Even though the summer is here, we are not stopping our training and constant improving of our physical shape. This is so important for us, because we want to show the results of our hard training on the beach. However, it is always important to be in shape, this is the reason why it is imperative to train constantly.

Sometimes, training in the hall can be boring. And that is why a holiday on the beach is the perfect way to combinate duty and pleasure, so without further ado..

The 5 Benefits of Beach Running:

1. Burns More Calories

If you haven’t figured it out yet, the extra effort and muscle engagement required to run on the beach means that it burns more calories compared to running on pavement. In fact, studies have shown that running on sand requires about one-and-a-half times more energy compared to running on a hard surface.

2. Natural refreshment

Nothing beats diving into the ocean after a hard beach run. A soak in the sea won't give you the same recovery benefits as an ice bath, but it will work wonders to soothe your hard-worked muscles while leaving you feeling refreshed.

3. Improves your running technique

Running on sand represents an entirely new training stimulus for your body. The sand is soft and gives way when you push off. This means that some of the elastic energy that is usually transferred to the next step is lost. In order to be able to run powerfully on sand, your body develops a smooth and efficient running technique with a midfoot strike and a stable push-off.

4. Vitamin and Mineral Boost

Vitamin D is obviously plentiful on any sunny beach and it has been shown to help improve calcium absorption, autoimmune response and mood. A study conducted by the Baker Heart Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia found that increased sunlight also led to reduced stress and improved sleep and appetite. If you're on a salty beach then the water also contains a multitude of healthy minerals like magnesium, potassium and iodine. Many saltwater minerals are used in topical anti-aging products, so why not step into the waves a bit and get a free dose?

5. The view

Definitely, the biggest benefit of running on the beach is the view. The feeling when you are running on the beach and see the sunrise or sunset is amazing. In this way your body is charged and in addition to that you are enjoying the amazing spectacles nature has to offer.
